I was lucky enough to not only get a sneak peak at the actual fabrics themselves, but I was able to order the whole line for our Sew Much Charm Shop!  If you would like to know when they arrive – be sure to follow us on Facebook because that’s where we will announce it FIRST!  This line is sure to sell out fast!

Do you want to reserve your Vincent’s Garden Fat Quarter pack now?  PRECLAIM YOURS HERE!

Have you seen it?  I just shared a video showing all of the fabrics on our Instagram & Facebook pages!  Check it out!  Drop a heart & tell me how much you love the bright bold colors.

This blog hop isn’t just to show off the fabrics – but we get to show you what we made with these gorgeous fabrics too!  Isn’t that part of the fun with quilting?  Showing what you made?  It is for me!  I love going to quilt shows and meeting up with my friends to see what they made, what’s in progress, and which fabrics they just got too!

You don’t need a lot of fabric to make a lot of amazing goodies!  Let’s check out what you can make with a precut pack of 10″ squares.  {Beginner’s Tip: Another fabric company calls a pack of 10″ squares a “layer cake” – but this term is trademarked and only that company can use that term.  It’s part of their marketing…and who can blame them?  The term is now very recognizable.  I just wanted you to know why I wasn’t calling it that.  But I digress…Back to quilting.}

Have you ever checked Pinterest for 10″ square quilt ideas?  It’s amazing…maybe I’m still shocked at how search engines can find so many links and sources so quickly…but Pinterest…WOW.

What did I make?  My brain exploded with ideas!  The hardest part – making the decision of what to make…This fabric is soooo inspiring!

I recently found a quilt block that I fell in love with all over again.  The Wonky Block…some call it the Crazy Block.  There literally are no rules.  I found this block for a second time when I signed up for Flash Fiction Mystery Quilt to start their 2020 quilt – which started in September.  The very first block was the wonky block.

If you want a guaranteed good time – sign up for their emails and be sure to sign up for next year’s mystery fun!  For only about $60 you get 12 months of a story or a chapter in a story, a puzzle, and a quilt block that builds into a gorgeous quilt.  Sew Much Charm is the fabric curator for this mystery quilt & we have some gorgeous Island Batiks planned for the 2021 quilt!  (Hint…Hint)

I wanted the entire wonky block as the entire project.  With the fabrics from this line, there is no way this would not be a project that will stand out.  It’s different.  It’s unique.  Everyone will see this quilt in these gorgeous colors!  If you know me, I love color!  These fabrics are amazing and are perfect for ALL of your quilting projects – LARGE or SMALL.

With 10″ squares – it is easy to start with cutting strips in various sizes.  You can sew a curve in the wonky block to really make it funky!  You can go back and add decorative stitches with variegated threads to add character or a fun feel to your project.  (Hint…Hint….Can’t wait to show you part 2 tomorrow!  You are coming back, right?)

I love the videos that Lynda makes for the tutorials for Flash Fiction Mystery Quilt!  She even gave me permission to share the video!  That’s how awesome she is…It will be in the post tomorrow.  It is simply perfect….seriously.

I started my journey with the Wonky Block and built it in size showing off all the gorgeous colors….If you watched me Tuesday night on Facebook, I showed it.  It was a hit!

I then demonstrated how to use a new product called Hot Fix to apply a black fabric overlay with an image of the Houston skyline cut out.  It took 3 videos total to get the demo done due to tech issues…but the applique looks great and Vincent’s Garden POPS with black!

My use of Vincent’s Garden was in a modern quilt project – This is a project you can do with any applique image.  I have a friend in mind that I will be gifting this wall hanging to.  She loves colors.  She loves batiks…and she loves Houston!  Here is a close up on the center.

I’m going to use Wonderfil’s InvisaFil 100 wt thread in black, white, & navy, & Tutti for the variegated threads.  I simply love their threads!  Come back tomorrow & I can’t wait to show you the finished product!
