The Airing of the Quilts – Chappell Hill, Texas!

Airing of the Quilts Chappell Hill

I love to see quilts.  I do.  I love to look at them as much as I love to make them!  I honestly love going to a quilt show and just staring at quilts and wonder in amazement at how many hours did they spend creating such a masterpiece.

When I saw the Facebook Ad promoting The Airing of the Quilts in historic Chappell Hill, Texas…I knew I had to go.

As soon as I got there with my friends in tow, we made a beeline to Beavers Restaurant.

It was wonderful and of course, I had the pie.  There were two quilts hanging from the porch at Beavers Restaurant.

Right across the street was the historic Providence Baptist Church and the quilts were all along Main Street.  I’m sharing my best pictures with you so you can enjoy them too!

There was literally something for everyone: Flying Geese, Dresden Plates, Sampler Quilts, Pinwheels, Applique, Animals, Christmas, you name it!

I think this one was my favorite jaw dropper.  It’s just so beautiful!

This gorgeous quilt was one of the raffle quilts!

Here you can see the road was a bit marked off next to the stores so that you had room to walk in front of them to truly see their beauty.

Security was high too!  There were several deputies in the area just helping folks out with parking and how to get to places.  It felt like a very safe event!

Even historical ships made it to this Airing of the Quilts!

I was really surprised at how it didn’t feel crowded either.  Maybe because we all knew we were with our quilting family and we love to be together!

I love the bright colors on white background…and you all know how I just recently started my love affair with Flying Geese…

Quilts EVERYWHERE!

There were so many great quilts! I can’t wait for next year’s Airing of the Quilts in Chappell Hill.  This is no way all of my pictures.  I took about 100 photos at the event.

I think I’ll put this year’s BOM Sampler Quilt in!  Which quilt was your favorite?
