All You Can Do is Laugh…

This weekend was one of a kind and it was hilarious to me.  I could not make this stuff up if I wanted to.  I simply am not this creative…

I left home on Thursday to drive two hours to our deer camp to meet a handyman who was suppose to finish the electrical work that our previous electrician didn’t finish and then vanished for the last 3 months…We heard the rumors that he had illnesses and had been in the hospital, but we left several messages and never heard from him.  So we figured that he just didn’t want to do it.
The handyman showed up Friday morning at 9AM…on time.  That was a nice change.  I showed him the items again and he immediately got to work.  He was finished shortly after noon.  He actually left around noon to get more screws and then returned to finish securing a wire he had just ran for a new tankless hot water heater…As I closed the gate for him, I went inside just happy as a lark!  The last of the electrical work was finally finished!
It was about 5 minutes later when I heard a car honking outside.  The handyman, Jeff, must have left something.  I hurried outside and saw a man coming through the gate with his vehicle parked outside the gate.  It was not Jeff.  He asked for Andrew and I introduced myself as his wife.  He said his name was Don.  Don…the missing electrician.  I laughed.
How on earth could he have known that the truck that left the property just 5 minutes before he arrived was the person who finished the job he had promised to do oh so long ago?  How on earth could he have known that we just paid another to do the work that he was already paid to do?
All you can do is laugh…
